One of the most tragic situations today is the plight of the “dogs of war” -- the pups and strays in Iraq. Their life is one of daily abuse compounded by the horrors of war. A few have found comfort with our soldiers. One even travelled across sixty-five miles of desert to find the one who'd shown him kindness. These dogs are now being rescued and given homes with their military families in the U.S., but it's expensive.

Middleham Castle: A Royal Residence
The Richard III Collection
“A richly imagined and moving recreation of the glorious castle that dominated 15th century politics. Here the mighty Nevilles made momentous decisions that changed the course of English history. As the walls of Middleham rise, images come alive of the lonely little prince who made the castle home, fell in love with the Kingmaker’s daughter, and grew up to be a king whose passion was justice and whose laws flowered into modern western democracy. ‘Middleham: A Royal Residence’ breathes poignant life into the dust of history and leaves a lasting impression.” —

 Anne Easter Smith
Author of A ROSE FOR THE CROWN
Richard III is seen through the eyes of the woman who might have been the mother of his illegitimate children, a woman who chose to remain anonymous when the court rewards for a king's mistress would have been great, a woman who loved him for who he really was, no matter what the cost to herself.
“Anne Easter Smith knows how to deliver a journey of the heart.” —
Sandra Worth, author of Lady of the Roses
