A Letter to the Readers of
Lady of the Roses
February 28th, 2008
Dear Readers,
I received a flock of entries for my “Love & Destiny” contest that ended on Valentine’s Day. Some wrote at length, and others sent only their names and addresses. I chose from among the essays first, and then I threw all the other names back into the hat for four more draws.
Of the stories that were sent in, many were poignant, others were inspiring, and some were wistful. It wasn't easy to chose the Prize Winning Essay. I felt very close to my readers as I read their thoughts on the subject of love, and fate: its trials, tribulations, joys and sorrows. I would have liked to have given everyone who entered a copy of Lady of the Roses but—for those who didn’t win—please don’t despair! There’s still time to get a free copy of Lady of the Roses. Kelly Hewitt over at Loaded Questions
is giving away five more books. The last date to enter is March 3rd—so hurry over there!
And don’t forget to check back here in a few days. Your heart will be lifted and warmed to read the Prize Winning Essay entry.
Wishing you love,
Sandra

Love & Destiny
“I guess I could be called an incurable romantic . . . believing in love at first sight!
I met a boy who had come to college in Ohio from a farm in NJ back in 1949. I was behind the counter in the commons when he came through for lunch and a girl friend was in line in front of him and she took the opportunity to introduce us. He didn't waste any time in calling me for a date and neither of us dated anyone else after that! We have had a wonderful 55 years of marriage and are still in love as well as good friends. We are so grateful and give thanks daily that we have been given all these years to enjoy each other and our 3 children and 5 grandchildren.”
